How Many People Think Bush is an Idiot

Hello guys. I've just joined the message board & just read through this thread. Some interesting view points & opinions being expressed, so I thought I'd throw in my tuppence worth.

From a viewpoint from outside the US (I live in Scotland), it seems that this whole war thing is a reaction to not being able to find Binladen. I know that it's being hailed as war against terrorism by both Bush & Blair. If this is the case, will the US & Britain then continue to fight terrorism in other countries all over the world after this war has ended?

Now for this to be a true war on terrorism the US would have to move into Ireland for example, where there has been terrorism for a good few years now. Unfortunately I don't see this happening.

The next thing to think about is, why do these people hate the western world? Could it be because we as a civilisation keep them in squalor so we can live in relative splendour? I for one would get pretty annoyed if I though someone was subjugating me to keep themselves in luxury.

We only have to look at the world see all of the starving people all over the world, kept there in a lot of cases by other military dictators, I mean Africa is full of them, but I don't see the western world running in there full of righteous fire. A pity really. If we spent the money we spend on weapons on feeding the people that really need it, surly it would be a better world for all.

Surely this is the goal we should all be working towards, not the killing of many innocent people.

I thought by now we would have evolved as a species, to the point where we would realise that war fixes nothing.

We all communicate to other people through our involvement in music, pity it seems that that communication breaks down when our emotions get the better of us.

nice exchange of opinions going on, well i watched Bush's ultimatum on Saddam a while ago here..... and whoa!!! the TV is full of rioting protest, its really happening guys... i was just gonna ask every one how's the atmosphere on everyones place regarding this event..

I think it's great that people like Howard Zinn have the freedom to put out a book like that.
It 's a facinating view of the US through the eyes of the working people.
He may be on the left but the information that he acquired is bookmarked in the bibliography at the end of the book.
I found out about Howard Zinn throught the great Trumpet player of today- Dave Douglas.
I think America's greatness comes from the fact that we can question our gov't. That's very American.

I'm not sure we've ever sold WMD to other countries. That I find hard to believe. Yes of course we've armed many a Middle Eastern dicator to further our own interests but hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

Also, find me a person somewhere who doesn't want some piece of the "American Dream." Yes, we're spoiled little bitches but I for one am VERY grateful of where I live and the lifestyle I'm afforded as a result.

Saying the US is the big bad evil country is just crazy. We don't gas our own people (or anyone else's) and we've used Nukes or should I say that day's equivalent twice in one brutal conflict that ravaged the entire planet. Yes we killed thousands of innocents in that attack but in that particular circumstance it was us or them. Show me a country anywhere that wouldn't choose "them" everytime.

Fuck Saddam. I don't like Bush I'll admit, but Saddam can suck a dick. (or a big fat fucking bomb, either way)

finally, if not to state the obvious, NO ONE on this board or anywhere else wants to see innocent people die in any country. Remember that when we debate these subjects please. We're all just drummers talking.

Saddam will not be the last dictator so I hope the US takes care of this guy the right way.
America is the soul super power right now. If we mess up with this war and too many civilians are killed the world will be pointing fingers at us for a long time to come.

And as for the post that claims nobody knows anything and the government is made up of lies and deceit, that's just a sucker's way of avoiding an intelligent opinion concerning the issues. I hate to break it to you, but the illuminati doesn't exist, and there are no big conspiracies.

This just in from the leading British Human rights organization. This group happens to be headed up by a number of women which in certain respects gives it great credibility.

You want to know how Hussein punishes those who dissent. A man who spoke out this week against him was tied up to a wall had his tongue cut out and his arms and legs mutilated and left to bleed to death as a warning to others who speak
out. Or women had to watch as their husbands were put threw large commercial shredders and ripped up for speaking out.

One of his favorites is tying men and women and even children up to posts and letting attack dogs tear them apart.

Thank God this man is good as gone!

You are not provign anything against what the man says by calling him names, all you have proven is that you called him a name. Yet his points still stand.

My views are not a wussys view to ge out of an intelligent opinion.

The fact is a "intelligent opinion" is a lingistically false.

My views come from first hand knowledge and speaking with and having friends in the military and other government posistions. From what I have learned through various people, is that the people who the media presents as the leaders of makign desicions are not. The people who make the desicions are out of the view.

everyone can bitch and complain of the state the western cultures are in right now.

how we arrived here by creating allies in the middle east during the cold war, and creating an economic infrastucture based completely on oil.

when the cold war was over the u.s. pulled out help in afganistan, iraq, ect. these countries became might is right and afganistan becam a nightmare. the dude we were helping in iraq was a nutbar.

mix a very self rightious independent extreemist religion into the mix and you get hatred for the west.

we can complain about how stupid the u.s. is for arriving here but the fact is this is the situation, it's not going to change, the radical muslims and there allies hate the west, and feel they must irradicate the infedels.

they will find a way eventually to attack the western countries again. the only thing you can do is make it clear to them that the u.s. is the big kid on the block,and you're ass will be kicked if you want to start a fight.

i believe this is more than just iraq. this is just a pawn. once they are in iraq, they are smack dab in the middle of it.

i just wish they would work on alternative power source along the way so they don't have to fight for a resoucre that is wiping out the planet on it's own.
